…on our other project things are progressing slowly as well…
Here is a picture of the three season porch with the newly installed slate floor over the “in-floor” heating system:

The rest of the house will have an interesting floor covering. This is a pretty rough looking pile of boards but it is actually flooring milled from reclaimed Oak. It will be a very rustic looking floor…

The weather has been unseasonably warm. Sunny and in the 60s for highs. Most of the snow has already melted, we didn’t have that much to begin with).
Winter never really came this year. I think I counted less than 20 mornings where I woke up to below zero temperatures, and less than 4 days where we had below -20. It never hit -30. And only a couple days where it didn’t get above 0 all day.
At this point, though, we are just concerned with precipitation. We need some. Doesn’t matter if it is snow or rain. The lakes will be all but drying up if we don’t get something. I expect we will get one more good snowstorm and have a wet spring in general. The temperature is not something we can do much about, but the precipitation usually equals out somewhere along the way. Plus we haven’t had a real bad mosquito year in a while… we are about due for one…
In the mean time, my son is looking forward to the first baseball practice being outside on the field on Monday March 19. Outside on the field on March 19th?!?!
