Back in November we finally finished a remodel project that was, for the most part, completed except for the kitchen. We had been waiting for some custom made tile for the back-splash behind the soapstone counter-tops. I just realized I never did get around to posting these completed pictures.
The tile was custom made in Minneapolis by a company called North Prairie Tileworks. The homeowner worked with them to develop the design and then hand make the tiles for the project.
The tile was installed by Brett Davies in Ely.
Here are a couple “before” pictures. The whole house was remodeled extensively, it’s just the kitchen I hadn’t mentioned before in this blog because it was not quite finished.
I did talk about this project in some old posts. Here is one: http://woodcarvingconcepts.blogspot.com/2012/11/some-more-shots-of-recent-remodel.html
The days are lengthening noticeably now. I think we actually had a morning or two where it was above zero to start the day. Seems like it has been a long time since we had that.
There was a Gray Jay eating one of the apples that still hangs in the tree outside my office window.
It seems there are always a few apples left every year high up that either escaped our notice till after the leaves were down or were just to high to reach. This guy seemed to be enjoying the the meal on the relatively warm, (maybe 15 above zero), sunny day.
